After School Clubs / Activities:

As we begin a new school year, I thought it would be useful to give parents a list of the club activities that we have running for children at Sarisbury during the course of the year. I am certainly grateful to staff who give up a great deal of their time to plan and organise these sessions. Unfortunately, due to the large number of children, not all activities are open to everyone and in some cases more opportunities are given to the older pupils. However, as I hope can be seen below, there are a wide variety of clubs throughout the year to cater for all interests. The organisation of clubs this year is as follows:

* this club is run by organisations outside of the school and therefore attracts a charge

I am sure parents will appreciate that being in a club attracts a certain amount of responsibility and commitment and therefore, if a child joins a club activity, we do ask that they commit to it for the duration. For outdoor clubs and activities, arrangements will be made to hold the children in school until the end of the session should the weather prevent them from taking place. Parents will be informed via our text messaging service if a club is cancelled and are welcome to collect their children at 3:30pm if the weather means we are unable to run the activity outside.

Autumn term club activities will begin over the next two weeks and children wishing to join will be given letters by the appropriate member of staff.

Yours sincerely
